Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about the game, the ways to play and your settings.

Dégringole is played with a tarot deck around seven shared piles. The goal: be the first to get rid of all your cards.

  • Flip the top card of your stack and put it on one of the seven piles: from King down to Ace, alternating red and black, or from 21 down to 1 for the trumps.
  • Move whole runs from one pile to another to uncover hidden cards.
  • Complete a run and the pile closes for good.
  • Load up your opponents: a single card or a whole run can end up on their discard pile. As long as you can play, your turn goes on.

The full rules are always at hand in the app: tap Game rules, on the home screen as during a game.

The app has a tutorial in ten short lessons: your character shows you every move. Open it from the home screen, in Settings (the gear) → “Learn to play”.

Two settings help while you play: Hints show your moves when you hesitate, and with Auto-draw your stack flips by itself.

Yes, from 2 to 4 players. Lay the iPhone or iPad flat on the table: everyone sits in their own corner and plays from their own side of the board.

Online games go through Game Center: you need to be signed in to Game Center on your device. Then choose Play online, and Invite friends or Find players who are looking for a game right now.

If a player disconnects during the game, it can go on without them, or they can be invited again.

Everyone at the table needs the same version of Dégringole: if the app asks you to, update it from the App Store.

  • Time Attack: a countdown on every turn, from Relaxed to Lightning. When time runs out, the card discards itself.
  • Special cards: nine cards with special effects slipped into the deal. Offload your discard pile, make an opponent skip a turn, play twice in a row, swap your next cards... Only one special card per turn.

Both are chosen with the type of game, before the deal.

Open Settings (the gear) → Language. Dégringole speaks eight languages: English, Français, Deutsch, Español, Italiano, Nederlands, Polski and Português. System follows the language of your device.

Dégringole is free and supported by advertising (Google AdMob): an ad between deals, one on the home screen, and an optional video you can choose to watch to replay your last turn.

Ads are personalised only with your consent. Where that consent is required, in Europe in particular, you can change your choice at any time in Settings (the gear) → “Ad privacy”. Apple's tracking permission is in the iOS Settings: Privacy & Security → Tracking.

All the details are in the privacy policy.

Your Records (games played, wins, scores) sync between your devices through iCloud, under your Apple account. On a new device, sign in with the same Apple account and keep iCloud turned on.

Records are written when a game goes all the way to its final standings: a game left before the end is not counted.

The weekly leaderboards and the twenty-eight achievements are kept by Game Center, under your Game Center account.
