You search for a way to open a 3D file, land on an online viewer, drag the file into the browser, and it works. No install, no cost, thirty seconds. For a model you downloaded off a public site, that is a perfectly good answer.
But something happened in those thirty seconds that is easy to miss: your file left your computer. It travelled across the network and landed on a server belonging to someone else. Whether that matters depends entirely on what was in the file, and it is worth being deliberate about rather than accidental.
An online viewer cannot show you a model it does not have. To render your file in a browser, the service has to receive it. From that moment on, what happens to the file is governed by that service's terms and its retention policy, which vary enormously and which almost nobody reads before dragging a file in.
